Old Lake Latest Catches week ending 3/3/19
March is a prime month for a big zander, and with mild temperatures and overcast days, this next week and a half could produce something special.
Good numbers of fish are still being caught, last week’s 11 lb 1 oz captor, Martin Chennell, landing another three on Friday afternoon, the biggest 6 lb, this time around the back of the island, on peg 70, on freelined roach sections.
And father and son Karl and Sam Self, from Battersea, also had three fish, to 6 lb 8 oz, from pegs 3 and 4, on small pieces of roach, Karl the captor of the biggest.
And on the carp front, Dan Wood, from Eastbourne, made the most of an increase in fish activity by landing a 22 lb common, from peg 2.
