FISHERY RULES
• ACCESS TO THE FISHERY IS FROM 7am – your gate code will not work until this time, so please DO NOT arrive at the fishery until 7am at the very earliest.
• WHEN ENTERING THE ESTATE, PLEASE BE QUIET – do not slam doors, and turn car radios off.
• ONCE THROUGH THE GATE, DRIVE DIRECTLY TO THE DESIGNATED PARKING AREA (see map below) – do not drive around the lakes or park/drive on the grass verges, as this will result in you being asked to leave the fishery.
• PLEASE PARK SENSIBLY – park only in the designated parking area by the entrance to Temple Lake or if full, by the Wood barn.
• IF YOU HAVE PAID TO BRING ONE NON-FISHING GUEST – you are responsible for your guest at all times!
• DIP ALL NETS WHEN ENTERING THE FISHERY – using the net dip tanks provided next to each lake.
• ALCHOHOL IS BANNED ON THE FISHERY – anyone found with alcohol will be asked to leave the fishery.
• DOGS MUST BE KEPT ON A LEAD AT ALL TIMES – and under strict control. PLEASE CLEAN UP AFTER THEM!
• DO NOT DISTURB WILDLIFE – please do not feed the ducks and report any wildlife problems to the bailiff.
• ACCESS IS ONLY PERMITTED TO PUBLIC AREAS – do not climb gates or trespass on adjoining private land.
• PLEASE TAKE ALL YOUR LITTER HOME WITH YOU – the bins at the entrance to the fishery are for residents use only.
• PLEASE ADVISE THE BAILIFF OF ANY PROBLEMS YOU ENCOUNTER DURING YOUR VISIT!
FISHING RULES
1. Access to the fishery will not be permitted unless a booking has been made and paid for in advance.
2. Fishing must be for CARP only, targeting other species, is strictly forbidden.
3. We reserve the right to close a fishing area or indeed the Lake, at any time without reason or notice. However, prior notice will be given where possible and an alternative booking date offered.
4. Please always display your car pass on the dashboard of your vehicle when on the fishery.
5. Night fishing is a lock-in. Except in cases of emergency, you are expected to remain by your swim and not to walk around the fishery. Under no circumstances should you have visitors or fast-food deliveries once the fishery has closed as they will be turned away.
6. Nets and unhooking mats must be dipped when entering the fishery; dips are located close to all the lakes.
7. Parking – anglers should drop their tackle off along the road and immediately move their car to the car park.
8. Please do not drive or park on the grass verges at any time.
9. Fishing must take place only from the permanent swims provided, this includes stalking. There is strictly no fishing between swims.
10. All anglers must be in possession of a large 42” landing net.
11. A large specimen carp cradle must always be used for unhooking fish.
12. All anglers must be in possession of a Fish Care Kit to treat damage and wounded fish.
13. Rods must not be left unattended at any time or for any reason.
14. Minimum line strength is 12lb.
15. Braided main lines may be used provided that a one-meter length of monofilament is used before the hook.
16. Please use sensible hook length materials, i.e., no spider wire.
17. Lead Core is banned.
18. Hooks MUST be straight barbless or micro-barbed – no other hook types are permitted.
19. Fixed rigs are banned. We will be carrying out rig checks from time to time and anyone found using fixed rigs will be banned on the spot. This includes using safety clips which have been glued in or pushed in too hard
20. Following capture, all fish must be moved onto a large carp cradle for unhooking.
21. Fish being photographed must be always held over an unhooking mat. Photographs must be taken kneeling down, under no circumstances stand up or attempt to stand up when returning fish.
22. Fish must be weighed in a purpose made sling, zipped unhooking cradle or landing net only.
23. All fish to be returned to the water after capture and photographing. In the case of fish over 30lb, these may be sacked for a short period for photographing as soon as possible.
24. When returning fish to the water you must use a sling, zipped unhooking mat or landing net to move the fish regardless of the distance. NEVER STAND UP WITH A FISH AT ANY TIME!
25. All particle baits except for sweetcorn, hemp and carp pellet are banned. No trout pellets, peas, beans, nuts or maize. However, we will permit Dynamite’s ready prepared Party Mix/Mixed Particles to be used.
26. Floating baits are BANNED.
27. Bait boats can be used with care. When using a bait boat, this must be directly in front of the swim being fished and not diagonally across the lake. A sensible distance should also be adhered to. Baits should also be dropped short of any bushes or snags and not placed too close or underneath snags for fear of snagging fish.
28. Please complete a catch report on-line letting us have any photographs.
29. Toilets are available close to the Lakes; please use them.
30. Take all litter and unused bait home or place in the waste bins provided in the main car park or by the Temple toilet. ANYONE LEAVING LITTER WILL BE BANNED!
31. Please advise a member of staff as soon as possible should any wildlife become injured, hooked or entangled.
32. We only allow proper fishing bivvy’s to be used, we do not allow general tents or shelters.
33. Please advise a bailiff immediately of any encounter with members of the public.
34. Do not light fires or burn grass or platforms when using cooking equipment. BBQ’s are banned.
35. Please be considerate at night; bite indicators must be set to remote as noise travels, particularly at night.
36. Please keep lights to a minimum, use head torches only when needed. We do not allow hurricane lights or bright LED flood lights to be used at night.
37. Mobile telephone ringing tone volumes should be switched to vibrate.
38. Whilst alcohol is generally banned, we will permit small amounts to be consumed in moderation. Anyone found to be inebriated will be asked to reel in and have their membership removed.
39. You are reminded that you should be in possession of an EA rod license.
40. Whilst we welcome guests to the fishery, you are restricted to one guest per angler when a £10 session fee will be charged. Non fishing guests must be booked in with Rebecca and paid for at the time of booking.
The management accept no responsibility, however caused, for injury, loss or damage arising from the use of the fishery and or its facilities.
