Old Lake Latest Catches week ending 16/9/18
When the Old Lake carp want to feed, there’s no stopping them, as new Specimen Carp Club Member Arthur Piersa discovered when he set up for his first 24-hour session on the lake this weekend.
Putting out three rods at peg 3, he had three runs at the same time ten minutes later, landing all three fish, which included a 21 lb mirror carp.
Shepherds Bush angler Arthur had his first ever triple hit of fish at 4pm, using Sticky Baits 18 mm boilies in snowman presentations with Mainline Pineapple pop-ups, over a bed of catapulted 14 mm Strawberry baits, finishing his session with five fish.
In action on the boats were Sean Allen and Sean Wyatt, from Orpington, who shared three carp to 22 lb, which was a common, along with some nice tench, on Urban Bait Nutcracker boilies over Bloodworm pellets.
And Dave Oak and Mac Crow, from Streatham, shared a catch of seven carp to 17 lb, which was a common, at pegs 72 and 73, on 15 mm Mainline Cell boilies tipped with corn, spodding out bait and fishing ten metres off the island.
