Milton Lake Latest Catches week ending 17/6/18
Milton Lake comes into its own at this time of year for tench, bream and crucians, along with a few bonus carp, either on waggler with a running line, or pole close in or up against the lily pads, where fish can often be lined up with a little-and-often loosefeeding approach.
Lake regular Alan Derbyshire showed that the fish are in a feeding mood with 25 crucians and five sizeable tench to over 3 lb, with other smaller ones, along with a 1 lb 8 oz roach/bream hybrid.
Alan fish peg 4, using a 13m pole and cupped in chopped worm and maggots with small balls of groundbait, fishing just quarter-inch pieces of dendrobaena on the hook.
And Paul Marsh landed 14 tench and over 20 crucians to 2 lb 11 oz fishing a small waggler three or four rod lengths out to the lilies at peg 3, using maggots or corn over loosefed small pellets.
