Milton Lake Latest Catches week ending 23/4/17
Milton Lake is the place to try for a catch of prime roach, using a waggler on a running line or pole just a short distance out, close to the pads, where they can be lined up with a little-and-often loosefeeding approach. And in the mild spells there are crucians, tench and bream to be caught, along with occasional carp.
Mike Davidson had been hoping for some specimen roach action on Milton Lake on his latest visit, but at midday when he took a short break he’d had 11 tench to his rod and only one roach and one crucian.
The one-time British silver bream record holder had been targeting the roach with casters at peg 22, but the hungry tench had kept the roach at bay.
