Milton Lake Latest Catches week ending 7/4/19
Milton Lake is the place to head for if you want tench, bream, crucians and specimen roach, along with a chance of a bonus carp, either on waggler with a running line, or pole close in or up against the lily pads, where fish can often be lined up with a little-and-often loosefeeding approach using small baits, especially now that the weather has become milder.
Alan Derbyshire returned for more on Saturday after his visit last weekend that provided him with 30 crucians, and that’s just what he got, this time landing over 50.
The Epsom angler also had four tench, two 3 lb bream and four 1 lb hybrids, fishing peg 10, around the back of the island.
He landed fish steadily throughout his visit, on 11-metre pole and double red maggot, cupping in tiny balls of hardish groundbait with dead maggots, and fishing hard on the bottom.
