Winter fishing at Bury Hill is all about taking advantage of the mild spells, and Andy Jones, from Wimbledon, did just that with common carp of 18 lb and 14 lb 8 oz.
Andy was fishing peg 32 with Nash Scopex and CC Moore Live System boilies to tempt the fish.
Zander anglers are continuing to get plenty of indications, the challenge being turning the bites into fish.
With the banks quieter at this time of year, it is possible to rove around and drop into several swims, to try to locate a group of fish, increasing the chances of success.
The recent rainy spell means that the water is suitably coloured to encourage all species to feed more confidently, and with no fishing for two days, the change in conditions soon after fishing resumes after the holiday could be a perfect opportunity for those who make the most of the chance before the New Year’s Day closure.
