Temple Lake Latest Catches week ending 29/4/18
Sport is improving by the week on Temple, with two ‘thirties’ last week and four reported this week, including The Ghost at 35 lb (see photos below).
In-form Aaron Warner had the famous fish, along with a 25 lb 6 oz common.
Aaron was fishing his favourite peg 3 with Mainline Cell wafters in open water towards peg 2, to add to his 33 lb 8 oz common and 10 lb 8 oz Temple zander last week.
This is the first reported capture of The Ghost this year, the previous being in late December, when Gez Schifano had the fish at 36 lb 10 oz.
Its peak weight was last May, when it came out at 40 lb 10 oz to Terry Burns, and a week later to Lee Carder on his first visit.
Lake regular Mark Savage was also in action, landing a 36 lb mirror, along with a 30 lb common in a storm, and a 21 lb 4 oz mirror, a 20 lb 2 oz common and a 19 lb fish in one session (see photos below).
All of Mark’s fish came from peg 10 in the margins on Urban Bait Nutcracker boilies over loosefeed.
Mark reported: “The atmosphere was great over the weekend, which reminded me of the old days on Temple.
“It was great to see some new faces, who rightly so asked for knowledge of the lake, as they were not catching, so it was great to see one guy landing four and another beating his personal best.”
Joe Holdsworth also had an enjoyable visit, landing a 32 lb mirror (see photos below) from peg 14, casting a single 16 mm Sticky Baits Manilla boilie to showing fish, over 10-15 scattered baits a rod length off the island, for a dawn run.
He commented: “I wanted to take this opportunity and say what a fantastic fishery you have.
“Every fish I saw was in amazing condition, a credit to the anglers that fish it and the management.
“I have had a great session and thoroughly enjoyed myself. I look forward to many more sessions.”
Lake regular Ray Harding added to his 27 lb 8 oz mirror carp from peg 1, on a Mainline Peaches & Cream pop-up, with the Long Common at 27 lb from peg 12 on a Pineapple pop-up.
Andrew Hall banked a 22 lb 8 oz common from peg 9 on a dumbbell with a PVA bag, having moved from peg 6.
Tony Kirkman landed a 20 lb 8 oz common from peg 5 on a Mainline Spicy Crab wafter.
And Neil Budd had three fish in 24 hours: a 20 lb 7 oz fully scaled, and mirrors of 18 lb 15 oz and 18 lb 5 oz, on Mainline Essential IB pop-ups.
