Having fished hard for the past week or two, sport on Temple finally picked up following the capture of three cracking thirties along with a number of big upper twenties.
Leading the pack was Robin Ellis, who being delighted with his 31lb mirror, which he caught last week, returned on Sunday to be rewarded with yet another big Temple mirror this time weighing 36lb 8oz, which was soon followed by a stunning 28lb 8oz common. Fishing peg 12, Robin caught all his fish on his favourite half a homemade boilie which he fished over a few offerings close to the island margins.
Another angler to do well on Temple this weekend was regular Sean Howard who managed his 10th Temple thirty of the year, a superb two tone mirror weighing 31lb 8oz which was supported by mirrors weighing 29lb 9oz (near linear), 28lb 8oz and a small but immaculate Ghost which weighed 19lb. Sean fished peg 10 catching the big mirror and the ghost on maggots using a PVA bag and maggot aligner rig whilst the other two mirrors were on caught glugged corn.
David Povey also did well catching a 26lb common and a small scraper mirror, which he caught on fake popped up corn ,which he fished close to the island from peg 14.
