Temple EXPLODES with thirties! - 12 05 2008

Temple EXPLODES with thirties…
Following a phenomenal week on Temple which produced 10 thirties, this weekends sport now brings the total number of thirties caught to 15 with fish still being caught thick and fast! The explosion of thirties which includes a number of stunning new fish as well as some old friends, is most likely down to a lot of the high twenties now breaking through the magical thirty pound barrier which is supported by the fact that a lot of the fish are hitting the scales at record weights.
As we headed into this weekend, regular Matt Plank was one of the lucky anglers to bag a brace of Temple thirties, a stunning two tone mirror which is known as ‘Italian 1’ weighing 33lb 14oz which was at a new record weight and ‘The Linear’ which weighed 33lb 4oz. Matt fished swim 12 catching from the margins on pineapple pops glugged in a fruit dip fished over groundbait. In an earlier session, Matt also caught a 21lb 12oz common.
Carrying tag number 138134, Matt’s big mirror known as ‘Italian 1’ was last caught weighing 27lb 12oz back in June ‘07 having previously been caught at a top weight of 31lb 6oz in May ’07.
The second angler to bag a brace of thirties this weekend was regular Andy Brooks who bagged 5 fish during his 36 hour session, three twenties and two thirties, a stunning big common weighing 32lb and a 30lb mirror which is at a record weight along with two smaller mirrors weighing 27lb 10oz and 27lb 4oz and a fully scaled mirror weighing 25lb. Andy fished swim 5 catching from the island margins on Ultra-Plex combined with Pineapple pop ups fished over hemp and corn.
Last but not least to catch a thirty was Dean Meakin who bagged a 32lb 2oz mirror from swim 11, the 15th thirty in just 8 days. Dean fished a short overnight session catching his new PB on what is now the ‘In Bait’ on Temple, popped up glugged corn which he fished to the island margins catching just as the sun was going down Sunday evening.
Having adjusted the memberships, we currently have a few places left for this year if you know anyone who is interested in joining.
Tight lines.
