Its now official, every third fish caught on Temple is a thirty, well every two and a bit fish actually.
Following another run of thirties on Temple this week which brings the total number of thirties caught this year to 29, it is interesting to note that every two and a bit fish caught is now a thirty, which is great fishing by any standards.
The latest thirties to be reported from Temple were caught by Lee Tait and Mike Saxby. Fishing swim 6, Lee Tait from Uckfield, East Sussex on his first visit to Temple landed a cracking 30lb 4oz mirror on the last night of his five-night session. Lee cast a single grain of fake corn, which he popped up, to a fish showing over his feed pellet getting his run within 10 minutes.
The other angler to catch a thirty this weekend was Mike Saxby who caught a 33lb 7oz common. Mike fished swim 9 catching his first thirty from Temple on a homemade boilie from the island margins.
Other anglers to catch thirties this week as reported in this weeks news were Rob O’Neill who caught a cracking brace, a 34lb 2oz common and 29lb 4oz mirror. Fishing peg 12, the big common was a new PB for Rob who fished a single grain of corn with a small bag of pellet catching both fish on a size 10 hook from the island margins. Both of Rob’s fish were at a record weight.
Ray Savage also caught two fish during his session, a 31lb 8oz mirror and the ‘Parrot” weighing 18lb 8oz. Rob fished peg 1 catching on a Mainline Cell boilie.
Temple regular Stuart Mountjoy also had a good session catching a 33lb 4oz mirror and a 28lb common. Stuart fished swim 10 catching on corn over hemp and pellet to the pads. Another thirty was also caught in the week, a 31lb 6oz mirror carrying scan number 144125, although as yet there are no catch details for this fish.
