Following the capture of two thirties from Temple last week, Craig Hess returned to make it three, catching a lovely 33lb 2oz mirror bringing his total for the week to five fish, four mirrors weighing 34lb 2oz, 33lb 2oz, 32lb 6oz 25lb and a pretty common weighing 26lb 14oz.
Fishing his favourite swim 13, Craig fished a Mainline Pulse dumbell with a small pva bag packed with chopped boilies just short of the island margins catching all his fish during daylight hours.
Carrying tag number 186285, Craig’s latest thirty was stocked from our own Barn Pond back in 2003 weighing 23lb 4oz, the fish was last caught on the 8/1/2007 weighing 31lb 6oz. Indeed, the vast majority of fish caught this year are at record weights.
With 10 thirties already banked in the last 8 weeks from Temple which included a new lake record, the Ghost weighing 38lb 1oz and with an estimated 22/25 thirties now present, we are confident that Temple will throw up a lot more thirties in the coming weeks as the weather improves. Furthermore, with close to 50 fish banked in just a matter of weeks, the average size to date is just short of 28lb.
