Regular Scott Maslen grabbed half a day session on Temple this Wednesday banking the stunning ‘Two Tone’ at a record weight of 34lb 2oz. With bright sunny conditions, Scott chose to fish the deep water opting for swim 10, fishing maize and balanced popped up corn to the left hand point of the island into 3’ of water just short of the channel. Fishing leadcore and a semi fixed in-line lead to a 6” soft link and size 7 barbless claw hook, catching Two Tone gives Scott a well deserved new PB.
Carrying tag number 187219, Two Tone is at a record weight and was last caught back in April at a similar weight.
Tony Vary was the tenth lucky angler to bag a Temple thirty this week, a stunning 37lb 5oz mirror. Fishing a short 24 hour session, Tony fished swim 8 just up from the overflow along the road bank fishing his critically balanced plastic corn bait just 4’ out from the road margins into 4’ of water. A new UK PB for Tony, Tony also caught a 23lb 4oz common on similar tactics to the same area.
Carrying tag number 143554, this cracking King George mirror is pretty much at its top weight having been caught back in November 2006 at 37lb 8oz.
The Old Lake is also now starting to throw up some great fish with a number of twenties reported this week amongst the dozens of doubles caught. Most notable was John Hunt’s 29lb 8oz mirror which he caught from peg 59 and which fell to a Trout pellet boilie wrapped in paste fished to the back of the lilies.
Tight lines.
