TEMPLE LAKE FOR 20s & 30s

For the more experienced big carp man, Temple is the venue to target. Dug and stocked in 2003 with some of the finest big English carp available, every one of the 90+ carp in four acres are over 20 lb, averaging closer to 25 lb and with many upper 20s. There is a mix of commons, deep bodied mirrors, heavily scaled fish, linears, mirrors and even big ghosts which run to over thirty pounds.

Old Bury Hill’s Old Lake produces some of the south of England’s biggest bags of specimen tench and bream year after year, making it the only place to visit for a net full of prime slabs or tincas.

CRUCIANS

One of the few fisheries where you can catch genuine crucian carp and not brown goldfish, the crucian on the Bury Hill complex are found in large numbers on Milton Lake whilst smaller numbers of specimen fish exist in the Old Lake which are known to top the current British record.

Bream and carp catches resist weeks downpour! - 13 July 2008
Despite some pretty grim weather, all lakes fished reasonably well with the Old Lake seeing some good bags of bream and carp reported regardless of the weather whilst the two smaller lakes also saw some reasonable action. Picture shows bailiff Eric Bailey rushed off his feet between customers...
