Little sister to Milton, Bonds at two acres has just 20 pegs with depths to five feet and is full of hard fighting small carp averaging 3-4 lb for great carp crunching sport.
Regularly out-fishing its neighbour due to the head of greedy carp under 10 lb, Bonds is the place for beefy pole elastic or powerful float rods. Pleasure catches average over 50 lb making it a tremendously popular choice with anglers new to the sport. Along with the carp expect to catch tench, roach, rudd and bream.
A pretty lake surrounded by irises with a large centre island, Bonds is a venue where careful feeding and good bait are often all that is required to bag up, you can often leave the finesse at home so hectic can the action be. The two-hour match record set by John McCarthy is a staggering 86 lb, and over three hours nets to 141 lb have been recorded with clubs regularly reporting collective catches of over half a ton!
An ideal size for club matches throughout the year and in a perfect environment given the facilities on offer at the complex, Bonds is a popular weekend match venue so it’s wise to check availability of pegs before a visit!
