After my visit on Saturday 30th August i wanted to write to say that i was disappointed with the attitude of a particular carp fisherman on the old lake. I have myself moved over to carp fishing some 10 years ago but still dabble in coarse. This particular individual made it quite clear he was not happy with boats passing the island to get the jungle as his lines were fishing to the island. His words were `i didnt pay all this money to have boats disturbing me all day`.This was amongst other lines of abuse hurled our way. I hate to point out the obvious but why pay to fish a lake where you know punts are used`. Also how did he expect the boat anglers to get to the jungle over his lines..fly???
This really left a nasty taste in my mouth to what was going to be a nice peaceful relaxing day on the punt. There really is no need to behave in this manner as i believed as fisherman we have a passion for what we do and are like minded. How wrong can i be. Equally this individual gave the rest of us carp anglers a bad name. I hope this makes people think about their attitudes on the bank and have a bit of respect for eachother as we are all there to enjoy our time.

Im sorry to read your bad experance you had the other day, I dont want to stick up or make excusses for the guy but some people that do use the punts have no consideration for anyone else and fish where ever they fancy with out looking around them first !! Maybe he has had a bad time with one before and took it out on you!! I wouldnt let it put you of tho mate, you get people like this in every walk of life.

Sorry to hear that you got aggro, its sad but there are some rude people out there who claim to be fishermen.

Sorry to hear but wouldnt his lines be on bottom:confused: If you payed for a punt you have every right to go to the jungle and i woudnt worry.
