WATER TEMPERATURES
A much cooler week all round, although we did see some heavy showers again in the week, which helped to refresh all the lakes generally helping sport.
Surprisingly, despite all the rain water temperatures remained around the high teens and were 19.6 degree’s on Sunday whilst oxygen levels also settled down with Sunday seeing 47%, which is good.
Outlook for the week ahead is similar to last week with temperatures sitting around the high teens or early twenties and the chance of the odd shower.

THIS WEEKS FISHING!
With cooler weather taking hold, the fishing has bounced this week with all lakes fishing very well.
The general fishing on the Old Lake has simply been excellent this week with some great bags of bream reported along with quite a few tench, with boat anglers experiencing some prolific sport particularly from the Jungle. The Old Lake also saw plenty of carp action from the carp with plenty of multi bags reported, which included the odd fish to upper twenties, 27lb being the best.
Temple also saw catches continue with yet more multi fish hauls reported which again included a number of thirties in the week topped by a stonking 36lb common.
The cooler weather has also seen both Bonds and Milton Lakes bounce back with both lakes generally fishing well. Whilst Bonds has seen some excellent bags of carp to 10lb reported, Milton Lake again seen some good mixed bags reported with both tench and crucian showing in good numbers along with some very large rudd and roach.

OLD BURY HILL LAKE – GENERAL & BOAT FISHING
PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE IS CURRENTLY A LIMIT ON THE AMOUNT OF GROUNDBAIT YOU CAN USE ON THE OLD LAKE, PLEASE ASK IN THE SHOP FOR DETAILS.
The fishing on the Old Lake this week has generally been good with some very good catches of bream reported topped by a 70 fish bag for one lucky angler. Good numbers of tench were also reported in the week with boat anglers in particular finding some sport from the jungle, which also included quite a few carp.
With all methods working well, the feeder continues to be the top method with hair rigged 8mm pellet over a few loose fed baits flicked in every minute or so taking a lot of the fish. Mini boilies, maggot and corn are also catching well.
This weeks catches
As reported last week, Mike Head had a cracking session on the Old Lake bagging over 35 by lunchtime Sunday. Well Mike carried on and by the end of the day he had caught over 70 bream to 6lbs plus a bonus 15lb mirror carp for well over 200lb and probably closer to 250lb. Mike fishing an open-end feeder 30mts out from peg 14 fishing 8mm hard pellets and 8mm fishmeal boilies over Swim Stim ground bait.
Another angler to bag a few bream was Clive Turner who having received some tips from Russ in the shop decided to fish peg 10. Fishing a Drennan cage feeder with Marine Halibut groundbait and 8mm halibut pellets hair rigged, Clive ended his session with over 30 bream to 5lb before he stopped counting.
Targeting the tench, Ray McFarland had a good session down the jungle catching 11 tench to 6lb, a few bream and 4 bonus carp to 14lb. Fishing a loaded waggler with hair rigged pellet on the hook, Ray fed 3mm pellet catching 2m from the overhang on the left hand side of the jungle.
Andrew Jones from Croydon has a great day in the week catching a few bream when he hooked into what he thought was a record crucian. Well whilst we do have some very large crucian in the Old Lake, this one turned out to be a crucian/common hybrid weighing 4lb 7oz 8dr. Still a cracking fish but not a UK record sadly. Fishing peg 51, Andrew caught on a waggler fished close to the pads with double red and white maggot on the hook.

OLD BURY HILL & TEMPLE LAKE – CARP
With both the Old Lake and Temple fishing well, Temple saw another good run of fish reported this week which included yet more thirties to 36lb whilst the Old Lake saw a number of multi bags reported topped by a couple of upper twenties to 27lb.
It was the Old Lake, which saw the best action this week with a number of anglers reporting good numbers of fish, which included a run of twenties topped by a cracking 27lb 4oz common. With the fish well spread around the lake, the shallow water areas have probably fished the best with both the top of the long bank, the island bank and early pegs on the front bank all fishing well.
Tactics and baits remain much the same as in previous weeks with Icelandic Red boilies continuing to take a lot of beating although Fusion, KG1 and Cell boilies are also catching as will most good quality baits.
Temple saw another run of good fish this week topped by a stonking 36lb common. With the shallow water areas fishing particularly, both the road and back banks are seeing some good catches reported with the margins fishing particularly well. Tactics and baits remain much the same as in previous weeks with boilies and popped up corn both working well.
This weeks catches
The Old Lake bounced back this week with a cracking 16 fish haul leading the catches, which included a 27lb 4oz common. Fishing peg 45, Old Lake regular Gavin Cambell had a busy overnight session catching two twenties, the 27lb 4oz common and 21lb 1oz mirror along with countless 18’s and 17’s with a few smaller doubles making up his bumper catch. Fishing KG1 baits to the open water, Gavin caught steadily throughout his session feeding loose boilies over pellet.
Old Lake regular Charlie Crisp had a good session catching a few fish to 22lb 10oz. Fishing peg 15, Charlie caught on 18mm Icelandic Red baits fished to the open water.
Another angler on the Old Lake to catch was 16-year-old Chris Cocks from Ashtead who managed 6 fish during his session, the best a 17lb mirror. Fishing peg 14, Chris fished 16mm Icelandic Red baits tipped with corn to the open water.
Turning to Temple, Lewis Gane bagged the best fish of the week so far, a stonking 36lb common. Fishing swim 11 on the back bank, Lewis fished a double yellow corn pop up critically balanced together with a small funnel web filled with hemp to the back of the lilies behind the island.

Another angler to catch on Temple was Steve Renyard who caught 5 fish which included his first Temple thirty. Fishing peg 6, Steve decided to buck the trend and to fish the new Rickworth XLR8 boilies catching 5 mirrors weighing 31lb 14oz, 25lb 8oz, 24lb 8oz, 24lb and 22lb 8oz.  You can read Steve’s full account of his catch at the following link. http://www.buryhillfisheries.co.uk/news/news.phtml?ID=178

Following his recent successes, Stuart Mountjoy returned to bag a further two fish, this time a 26lb 12oz common and 24lb mirror. Stuart fished peg 13 catching on popped up corn over pva pellet.

BONDS LAKE
PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE IS CURRENTLY A GROUNDBAIT BAN ON BONDS LAKE.
Generally Bonds has fished well this week, although the influx of cold water has seen sport a little up and down. With all methods working well, feeder tactics once again proved the best method this week with both pellet and mini boilies accounting for good numbers of fish to 10lb. Saying that, both pole and float tactics are also catching with a lot of fish coming from up in the water with pellet, maggot and corn all working well.
This weeks catches
Trevor Mead had a good session mid week catching 20 odd carp to 8lb. Fishing a small cage feeder to the back of the island, Trevor caught tight to the margins on hair rigged 8mm pellet.
Whilst recent matches on Bonds have been a little up and down Harrow Postal had a reasonable match last Sunday with just 1lb splitting the top two weights. D Stockley won the match from peg 11 with 55lb 8oz whilst J Brennn was second with 54lb from peg 16 and V Valtchev was third with 40lb from peg 13. All caught on hair rigged 8mm pellet.

MILTON LAKE
PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE IS CURRENTLY A GROUNDBAIT BAN ON MILTON LAKE.
Back on form, Milton saw some great catches this week with good numbers of tench and crucian making up the weights. With both tench and crucian showing in bags to 50lb plus, the rudd have also shown well with fish close to 3lb being reported along with some good sized roach and the odd perch.
As expected, the margins fished well again this week with both pole and float tactics working. Whilst the best of the fishing has come from the 20’s and back bank, the road bank pegs have also produced some great fishing. Baits remain much the same as in previous weeks with 8m or 10mm soft pellet over small pellet working well along with hair rigged pellet and mini boilies whilst maggot, caster, worm and corn are also catching.
This weeks catches
Gary Francis had a good session mid week catching a mixed bag of tench, crucian, roach and rudd. Fishing a short pole to the margins, Gary caught steadily on pellet over pellet catching tench to 5lb.
