WATER TEMPERATURES
Wow, a steamer of a weekend with temperatures hitting in the early twenties and due to increase further. Not surprisingly, water temperatures have soared to 22.1 degree’s whilst oxygen levels have also responded creeping back to 30%, which is good for the fishing.
Outlook for the week ahead is looking hot, hot, hot, with temperatures set to hit the late twenties.

THIS WEEKS FISHING!
A good week generally with all lakes fishing pretty well, helped by increasing oxygen levels which have steadily crept up throughout the week.
The Old Lake has seen some reasonable carp catches reported with a number of multi bags reported which included a couple of decent twenties. The general fishing on the Old Lake has also been good with some reasonable bags of bream being reported along with a few tench with both the bank and boats finding fish.
Bonds and Milton Lakes have also seen some reasonable sport with both lakes getting good reports, mixed bags to 50lb on Milton and 70lb bags of small carp on Bonds.
Whilst there were no thirties reported from Temple this week, a few fish have been reported.

OLD BURY HILL LAKE – GENERAL & BOAT FISHING
As water temperatures passed the 20-degree mark, the fishing certainly responded with all lakes and the Old Lake in particular seeing some good sport as a result. It was the bream that again dominated the catches this week with bags to well over 100lb reported by a anglers, although the average bag was nearer to 50lb, which is still great fishing for the time of year. A few tench were also showing from the lily swims and the jungle where boat anglers were taking some good mixed bags of bream, tench and carp.
With all banks fishing pretty well, pole, float and feeder tactics are again all taking the fish with most baits catching including large pellets which are working particularly well.
This weeks catches
James Reed had a blinding day on the Old Lake early week, catching 32 bream to 6lb on an open feeder 30mts out from peg 27. Fishing large 8mm pellet with halibut groundbait in the feeder, James caught steadily from the off and even managed to loose 3 carp, all doubles which broke his 2lb hooklink.
Another angler to score this week was Nick Wotton from Harrow. Fishing the jungle using traditional float tactics, Nick caught 8 tench good sized to 7lb on prawn luncheon meat and treble red maggot, which he fished on a size 12 hook.

OLD BURY HILL & TEMPLE LAKE – CARP
Surprisingly no thirties reported this week from either Temple of the Old Lake, which is a first for some time! However, whilst June is traditionally a tough time for the carp following spawning, the Old Lake did see some good multi catches reported with a couple of decent twenties included. With all banks producing a few fish, it was surprisingly the deeper water pegs that fished better this week with a number of multi bags reported of up to 8 fish, although with water temperatures soaring, expect to see more fish being caught from the shallows and margins over the coming week.
Regarding baits, Icelandic Red boilies are still taking a lot of beating although all good quality baits will catch with Fusion, KG1 and Cell boilies all worth a try as are the new Cotswold baits and the new Terry Hearn Red Fish boilies and Dynamites Spicy Tuna & Sweet Chilli boilies. The odd fish is also coming out on fake corn and pop ups as anglers start to imitate their success from Temple Lake.
Despite a lot of fish showing, Temple has generally fished a lot harder this week with just a few twenties reported. With most of the action coming from the margins, the open water is also producing a few fish. Popped up “glugged corn” still appears to be the most consistent bait, although boilies are also catching a few fish.
This weeks catches
Fishing the Old Lake, Terry Huntley had a good session catching 7 fish, which included a pretty 24lb 9oz mirror. Fishing peg 33, Terry fished a 20mm Icelandic Red boilie to the island margins catching over broken baits and pellet. Another angler on the Old Lake to catch was Giles Marshall, fishing peg 15 half way along the long bank, Giles landed 4 fish which he caught from the point of the island and from the deep water drop off. Giles caught on KG1 baits over pellet.
Rob Savage managed a stunning 27lb mirror from Temple during his weekend session. Fishing swim 9, Rob fished Cell boilies to the island margins.

Another angler to catch on Temple was regular Sean Howard, fishing swim 13, Sean managed two fish during his session a 27lb 8oz common and a 23lb 10oz ghost. Both fish came to popped up corn.

BONDS LAKE
With oxygen levels increasing, Bonds Lake generally fished well this week with a number of anglers reporting bags of up 20 plus carp for a good 60lb.
With all methods accounting for a few fish, pole and float remain the most successful methods with feeder tactics also working with pellet over pellet catching well with maggot, soft pellet and corn also scoring. However, with increasing water temperatures, the fish are starting to feed up in the water so be prepared to spray pellet and fish off the bottom.
This weeks catches
Adrian Taylor had a good day catching 26 fish to 8lb, although a few of the fish were this years stocking which are averaging 8oz. Fishing a loaded waggler, Adrian fed small 3mm pellet little and often and whilst he started to catch on 6mm pellet fished on the bottom, has the day wore on he started to take fish on the drop eventually catching just 2’ deep.

MILTON LAKE
Milton probably fished the best of all the lakes this week with good numbers of tench and crucian showing along with plenty of silver fish and perch. With all areas fishing well, the margins appear to be fishing the best with both pole and float tactics both working well. Best baits seem to be large 8m  or 10mm soft pellet over small pellet, although maggot, caster, worm and corn are also catching.
This weeks catches
Peter Summers had a good session mid week catching 50lb plus of tench and crucian and a few decent roach. Fishing peg 27, Peter fished a short pole to the margins catching on 8mm pellets and soft paste over small pellet.
Robert Woods also had a good session catching a real mixed bag of tench, crucian, roach, rudd, perch and a couple of skimmers. Fishing double maggot, Robert float fished the margins to the left of peg 3 catching his fish close to the reeds.
Recent matches have also seen some pretty good results and although I don’t have any names, Taywood AS was recently won with a 68lb 8oz bag whilst The King George AC’s day was won with a mixed bag weighing 79lb 2oz.
