WATER TEMPERATURES
In brief, a glorious week with plenty of sun helping temperatures hit 15 degree’s. As such, water temperatures have risen slightly in the week to 11.9 degree’s whilst oxygen levels also rose slightly to 33%. Outlook for the week ahead is also pretty good with southerly winds helping temperatures stay around the early teens, although there is the chance of a shower or two mid week.

THIS WEEKS FISHING!
Generally a good week on all lakes helped by the steady rise in water temperatures with the fishing on the Old Lake again dominated by the bream and tench, although good numbers of quality roach, rudd and hybrids have also been reported. Interestingly, boat anglers have been catching good numbers of tench from the jungle. The carp have also shown well with anglers again reporting multi bags of up to 10 fish.
Staying with the carp, Temple is fishing hugely well and has again thrown up another 4 thirties this week along with a few good twenties.
Both Milton and Bonds Lakes have also fished well again this week with bags to 50lb being reported from both lakes, mainly carp on Bonds whilst Milton has seen some very good mixed bags, which have even included a few quality crucian.

OLD BURY HILL LAKE – GENERAL & BOAT FISHING
With tench and bream showing from all areas, including the jungle, both bank and boat anglers are reporting bags close to 100lb again this week. With individual fish to 8lb, sport simply could not get any better for the time of year with both the shallow, mid and deeper water swims all producing a few fish, although the bigger bags are coming from the mid water areas. Boat anglers are also starting to find some action from the jungle with good numbers of tench showing along with the odd carp and bream.
Tactics remain much the same as previous weeks with the pole, feeder and float all working on the day with maggot, caster, worm and pellet catching particularly well. Larger baits such as corn and soft pellet are also taking the bigger fish so it is worth switching baits occasionally if you are looking to land the odd lump!
This weeks catches
Boat anglers Pete Shetton and Clint Gathencole had a great day down the jungle earlier in the week catching carp to 17lb, 20 odd tench each to 6lb as well as plenty of skimmers for a good ton up haul. The pair from Boston, Lincs fished double corn on the hook feeding hemp and soft pellet.
Scott Maslen grabbed a quick days fishing with son Zac who managed a dozen or so bream on the feeder. Fishing peg 11 along the front bank, Scott had 7/8 carp to just shy of 20lb whilst Zak bagged bream to 5lb+.
Bury Hill Open
Wednesday’s open on the 1st April saw 34 anglers’ fish the Old Lake fishing swims 1 to 40. The long bank produced the top weights as the bream spread themselves around on this good turnout. Jamie Matthews on peg 38 switched from pole and feeder to catch steady all day using pellet hook bait to tempt bream up to 4lbs plus with the odd trench for 57-0-0. Terry Harrison used similar tactics from peg 35 to put together a nice bag of bream for 54-1-0 whilst Geoff Vallence on the next peg helped himself to a nice net of slabs for 48-12-0 and was third on the day.
1st Jamie Matthews (Garbolino Surbiton) 57-0-0
2nd Terry Harrison (Dorking) 54-1-0
3rd Geoff Vallence (PI Delcac) 48-12-0
4th Lee Perry (Carshalton DAS) 45-10-0
5th Steve Gardener (Dorking) 45-4-0
6th Brian Walton (KC Angling) 44-6-0

With next week's 2 day festival looming large on the 7th and 8th April, all is looking good for a really cracking event.

Guildford AS
Guildford AS also had a good match last Sunday with bream and tench making up the weights, fishing the middle of the bank, Lee Simmonds (Guildford) won the day with 63lb of bream taken from peg 37 on a groundbait feeder and double red maggots on the hook. Second was Luke Sherrif with 48lb 8oz taken from peg 33. Luke fished a waggler with expander pellet on the hook feeding loose pellet.  Third was Dave ?Guntrip with 37lb 2oz from peg 31, Dave alternated between the pole and feeder catching on maggot.

OLD BURY HILL & TEMPLE LAKE - CARP
With the best of the fishing still to come on both the Old Lake and Temple Lake as water temperatures continue to rise, the week again saw 4 more Temple thirties reported along with a handful of twenties whilst the Old Lake again threw up some good multi bags with fish to 20lb reported.
On Temple it was the mid water swims that again produced the best of the action with both the margins and deep-water channel producing the fish, although fish are showing from all areas. Baits remain very varied with all good boilies working as well as popped up baits and glugged corn. However, “thinking out of the box” is important on Temple and small broken baits and bait combinations such as a small pop up tipped with glugged corn are working. Also look for signs of fish moving putting a bait on them can often lead to a quick take.
The Old Lake has also fished well this week producing some good multi bags of fish, which included the odd twenty. The fish remain well spread, with catches coming from both the island margins and mid water swims. Whilst pretty much any good quality baits will catch, good old Icelandic Red, Fusion, KG1 and Cell boilies are all worth a go as are some of the new Cotswold baits and the new Terry Hearn Red Fish boilies and Dynamites Spicy Tuna & Sweet Chilli boilies.
This weeks catches
Top man on Temple this week was ‘not unsurprisingly’ Sean Howard who only part way through his session has so far bagged mirrors weighing 38lb 1oz and 19lb. Fishing peg 1, Sean caught his biggie on glugged red corn which he popped up whilst the smaller mirror fell to a pineapple pop up.

Temple regular Craig Hess also caught a stunning 35lb 10oz mirror in the week. Fishing peg 12, Craig fished plastic corn with a pop up to the island margins. Another angler to catch was Stuart Mountjoy who caught 3 fish during his session, a mirror weighing 32lb 12oz and two commons weighing 28lb 8oz and 27lb 3oz. Stuart fished swim 10 catching on popped up corn over hemp. Regular Robin Ellis also bagged yet another Temple thirty this week, his 4th of the year, this time a 30lb 4oz mirror which is a new Temple thirty. Fishing swim 4, Robin caught on his standard set up of glugged corn tipped off with a small broken piece of cream pop up.
Other anglers to catch on Temple this week were David Povey from Croydon and Mark Gibson from New Addington. Still part way through their session, the pair fished pegs 11 and 12 with David catching a stunning 29lb 8oz mirror from the corner of the island on single yellow fake corn, which he fished as a pop up. Mark who fished peg 11, caught a 27lb 13oz common from between the islands on a homemade boilie. This catch follows Dave’s 26lb 8oz common which he caught on his last session.

Terry Mann had a good session on the Old Lake mid week catching 7 carp to 21lb. Fishing peg 33, Terry fished an 18mm Icelandic Red boilie to the island margins catching over a bed of pellet and broken baits. Scott Maslen also had a good session catching 7 carp to just shy of 20lb. Grabbing a quick session with his son Zak, Scott fished peg 11 along the front bank catching on a fishmeal boilie which he fished over pellet close to the point of the island.
Another angler to catch on the Old Lake was Kevin Locke, fishing peg 75, Kevin caught 5 fish to 19lb 2oz which he caught on Icelandic Red baits fished over free offerings just short of the island.

BONDS LAKE
With increasing water temperatures, Bonds fished well this week with a number of anglers reporting bags to just short of 100lb. Regarding tactics, both float and feeder are working with smaller baits such as maggot also catching well.
This weeks catches
Tom Spillier had a good day early week catching 23 carp to 9lb, a few tench and the odd roach for well over a 100lb. Tom fished peg 3 catching on a short pole and soft pellet over pellet.

MILTON LAKE
Milton Lake fished well again this week with mixed bags to over 80lb reported. With weights continuing to include quality roach, rudd and perch, the tench and crucian are now making a good show with good numbers of fish being included in the catches. The best of the action has again been coming to pole and feeder tactics with maggot, caster and worm all catching, although pellet, paste and corn are also starting to take fish.
This weeks catches
Milton Regular Andy Summers had a good day mid week catching well over 80lb of tench, crucian and roach. Fishing peg 3, Andy fished a loaded waggler to the reeds catching on large soft pellet.
Royal Oak fished a match on Milton last week with anglers bagging good mixed nets of tench, roach, rudd and crucian. With pole tactics seemingly the best method, Kevin smith won the day with 31lb 13oz taken from peg 4, Mick Farr was second with 21lb whilst Terry Wilkins was third with 15lb 11oz.
